Gesture used in the U.S.—
“OK.”: Thumb and index finger make a circle. The other three fingers curve
outward.
“Stop!”: One hand is held out in front of the body. Palm forward. Fingers together.
“Yes.”: The head nods up and down.
“NO.”: The head shakes from side to side.
“I approve.”: The thumb extends up while four fingers curve into the palm.
“I don’t know.”: Both shoulders are raised toward the ears. The elbows are bent
and the palms of the hands are up.
